I Signed a Contract...Now What?

Now that you have hired your birth doula...the real work begins!

Traditionally, a birth doula contract includes one to two prenatal visits in addition to labor and birth attendance as well as an in person postpartum visit. While this is a great model, it doesn't work for everyone. We offer several birth packages so that you can choose the option that works best for you.

All of our birth packages include unlimited Zoom, text, phone, and email support so that you can ask questions or meet with your doula virtually at any point in your pregnancy. This can be especially helpful as your body changes during pregnancy and you wonder what is "normal" or as you have more frequent appointments with your provider and have questions about different options that may arise. At times, you may also need additional emotional support and a quick phone call or text conversation with your doula may be just what you need to gain a fresh perspective.

In addition to virtual support, our packages include one or two in person prenatal visits as well as 1-2 hours of immediate postpartum support and either in person or virtual postpartum support once you arrive home with your baby, depending on the package you choose. All of our packages also offer you access to a TENS unit and a rebozo that may be used as comfort measures during your birthing time.

At Queen City BirthWork, we believe in offering guidance, nurturing care, and resources from the moment you sign your contract until the moment you bring your baby home and start to settle in to your new routine. If you need additional support, one of our postpartum doulas will also be available to get you through the weeks that follow! No matter what your needs are, we will be here to support you.
